As mentioned last month, songs impact people’s lives. After seeing the movie “I Can Only Imagine”, I decided to try out a few songs of mine own inspired by words such as Hope, Believe, Faith, etc. Last month I discussed “Hope” and how we all have a purpose.
For this second song, I decided to write about “Believing” since it is a word I need to keep in my back pocket for both the good and bad times. It is a word I had to learn about over time. This next song called, “I Believe” was written for my daughter, but believe people may see the words and think about their spouse, a friend, etc. For me, going through miscarriages and then adoption, I had to continue to believe. Then my daughter was born and I continued to believe in our journey from day one, from the day I saw her, and from the moment we grew together. Hope this song also has some significance for you as you read this post….

From day one, from the moment I saw you. from the time we grew together….God gave me the gift of you. He gave me the mountains to climb and the oceans to swim, but he also gave me the steps to my dance and the sun to my rain. There is no way I could have imagined you. The roller coaster and the euphoria. I can still remember holding you day one. I can still remember your face. Now we’re here. Talks, memories, laughs, and learnings all collided into one. Thank you for choosing me, being part of my life, and making my life more abundant.

I thank God everyday for day one, from the moment I saw you, from the time we grew together. I can’t believe what you’ve become. I am proud of you, I am honored to know you, and I can’t wait to see where your journey continues to take you. You are strong, you are wise, and you are beautiful. Although change is hard, I look forward to the horizon. I look forward to the road ahead. I look forward to continuing to grow with you.
